Hey boys! So I have finally decided to fix my bastard X1.. Leaking rear shock - got a recall one.. Will change ASAP. Leaking front shock - will fix myself, just a seal. Missing 4th gear - will leave it to the Sportster Doctor on tuesday to fix. Blown rear cylinder - will leave it to the Sportster Doctor on tuesday to fix. TPS reset - will leave it to the Sportster Doctor on tuesday to fix. The Sportster Doctor will charge about 3500USD to fix those things... REALLY hefty and quite depressing but I don't have much choice =( |

"Missing 4th gear - will leave it to the Sportster Doctor on tuesday to fix. Blown rear cylinder - will leave it to the Sportster Doctor on tuesday to fix." These are issues you could fix yourself! It's not rocket science... all you need is the service manual and a few easy-to-get special tools. Consider doing it at home. There is no special skill you need other than being able to read directions. |

$3500 Holy Cow. Thats a hefty price. You could do it all yourself for less than half of that. |

I bet the transmission could be fixed for less than $100 in parts no matter what the problem is. A shift fork only costs $35... the last time I checked for replacement gears, you could get them for less than $50 a piece from the dealer. |

Time is money! I work 70 hours a week right now... So even if I can fix it myself (don't doubt it) I don't have time until the winter.. Freelance sucks sometimes! |

You should consider being a Buell mechanic... I hear the opportunities are good where you live! I guess I'd be too tired to get my butt in the garage after a full day of blacksmithing, too. |

Bring it over to Germany. I´ll fix it for 1000 USD and will still make a good earning. Your so called doctor is a cutthroat in my eyes. Ralph |

Looks like I need to list my Buell in sweden. But I don't get it, if it costs 3500eu to fix a 500 dollar issue who's makin the money, If not the mechanic? What the dollar to the euro? |

Well I guess the mechanic is making the money... But you have to understand that a salary below 4000USD/month is really really bad over here. Everything is super expensive. |

I already shipped it to the "Doctor" Maybe it will be cheaper, that figure was a guesstimate. Next time I'll let Ralph take care of it. |
