Last night my raise "L" on Buell flew off into the night from my tank. Does anybody have one that they might have took off there tank? I would prefer to ride a Buell not a Bue l... |

To remove the rest of the letters you can use a heat gun... on second thought, just keep riding, I guess the rest will just fall off too. |

I removed the raised letters when I repainted my bike (the first time) with every intention of putting them back on... but when I got my tank back from the painters, I was so entranced by the curves of the tank, I left them off. I'll put them back on... one day. |

Use dental floss to remove the raised letters. It won't mess up the paint. |

+1 on the dental floss. It works even better when soaked in Goo Gone before using it to "saw" through the adhesive. Done carefully, it doesn't even scratch the gloss on the paint. Comes off very easily. Good luck, Dave |

Chuck - It's in the mail bud. I prefer to have the bike's name on it, that way ALL the people admiring it can just read what kind of bike it is, well those that read anyways. |

For anyone wondering, it seems as ALL of the OEM decals are still available from Buell. A few weeks back I ordered and applied stock S2 tank and fairing decals in place of the stock ones on my '07 XB9R. They look much better than the rubbers that were on there. As soon as I can get a pic or two and figure out how to post pics I will have them on the in the XB board. |

I lost a "U" from my '99. I made one from a white ice cream pail! No one ever notices. I think its funny. But I'm an odd fellow in that respect. TT |

Someone has a trunkfull of those silver emblems. They are always available on Ebay. And they always bring top dollar. But I need white ones to go with my Molten Orange bodywork. TT |

Tictoc: You can also get a complete set of new decals from your dealer. If you have any problem getting part numbers send me the year and model of your bike. I have a catalog with samples of every graphic Buell has ever put on a bike and can get you the part number. Court |

Glad it got to you, enjoy! Probably silly of me to keep the old lettering but I guess it has come in handy... Tictoc, I'm not asking for any money for the letters so if you'd like that "u" just let me know, the adhesive is all dried up of course - so you might need to buy some contact cement from the local hardware store, but that's all it will cost you. |
