Well i worked out a lot of the little problems yesterday and this morning and finally got the SHE DEVIL FROM HELL out...lol. Damn this thing is a joke. I am still trying to baby it during the break in period but I can already feel the torque trying to throw me off the bike. I cannot wait until I can finally go wide open throttle. Until then here are a few pictures. By the way. Im still trying to figure out why the speedo isnt working, still no horn, the headlight is a fog light I found in the garage, just street legal enough to ride around town...lol (Message edited by dtmcnamara on May 18, 2008) |

That thing looks very Terminator like. I dig it. I like the way you blacked everything out and did the frame in red. It sets the bike off nice! Goo job! |

lol...ya its rhino lined. I bought it like that off a guy on Badweb. He was tired of rock chips so he got it done. Also ya its a 1250cc big bore kit, andrews cams, XL1200 heads, XB12R rocker covers, D&D slip on with a ceramic coated header, updated shifter, updated exhaust bracket, all new seals in the motor, forcewinder intake and a few more little things here an there. So far loving it. I think I put about 100 miles on it so far, but its hard to tell with no odometer. I need to get that fixed, but as long as it runs it wont stop me from riding it daily. |

lol...i would love too. I am about to rebuild the front forks on mine and actually powder coat the front fork casings, along with the swing arm. Right now they are painted just to make sure I wanted the color. It I wasn't in school right now I would buy another x1 and do a turbo setup, but with tuition and all money is tight |

I am still trying to baby it during the break in period but I can already feel the torque trying to throw me off the bike. I cannot wait until I can finally go wide open throttle. **************************************** Don't baby it! I have used this technique on new buells, hondas and big V8s. Warm it up good and run it full throttle up in the revs before your rings are ruined and will never seat right...The first thing the factory does is run it full throttle through all the gears with zero miles! http://www.mototuneusa.com/break_in_secrets.htm |

According to that brake-in-secrets site, the method is critical during the first 100 miles, seems like the ONE EYED SHE DEVIL might be already past that point. |

There's more to an engine than just rings and cylinders. |

well ya Im already at 400 miles in the break in. I went through the 30 minute heat cycles recommended from revolution performance. Then rode her around. By baby I dont mean I just did some 3k shifts. I reved up there, but I slowly worked my way up the tach. I did the same with my 06 GSXR 1000 and also with my 04 SV650 and never had a problem. Just let the engine warm up to riding temperature and then slowly worked up the RPMs. I still have yet to go WOT all the way up to 6800, but thats comming soon. Waiting for the 500 miles make to do that. |
