Slowly shaping my hugger as a template before transferring it to the Carbon fiber hugger that will find it's home on the S1. I have taped of the area that I intended to cut. I have marked two possible shapes. Which shaped do you think would look the best? Thanks Joe Closeup of my two choices Wheel from the side Bike from the side From the back closeup Bike from the rear

I'd cut it in a 45 degree angle the opposite way.
1. If cut the way you intend the lower corner will be fragile and it may fray on you. 2. If cut the way I suggested the angle on top will offer some structural support. |

I thought of going even further back to mirror the curve on my lower belt guard on my 02 swingarm. I love the way you trimmed the Huger part of the guard tho I may copy that. |

Thanks guys for a couple of great ideas. Now the resolution may not be as quick as I though. Jeff no patents here. Tony and Andrew I'm thinking of a hybrid of your ideas. Use Tony's curve across the top and Andrew's reverse arch down the side ending directly above the axle's centerline. Means I have to move the cuts further aft. I'll go home in the morning and pen it in and look at it for awhile. Thanks Joe |
