I'm trying to find some of those accordian-pleated fork boots, to fit regular M2 forks. Like the old Triumph look, or the new H-D Nightster look. This might entail removing the dust wipers (but not the oil seals of course.) Having trouble finding any that fit the fork dimensions. Anybody do this, or know of anyone who did this? Or know a site that gives all the dimensions on their fork boots? Big problem, that most don't give their dimensions, just what BSA or Honda it fits, etc. |

I've seen a multitude of the fork boots on ebay for sale. I usually put in a search for "cafe" and the boots will come up. Try it and see what ya get. |

Tried it, that's what I'm talking about,no dimensions given on 95% of them. Upper diameter, lower diameter, length extended and collapsed. It seems basic. (Message edited by jayvee on May 15, 2008) |

http://www.bellacorse.com/bcc046.htm Super Gaiters from Bella Corse. They're pricey, but in HOURS of research, they're the only ones I found to fit our forks. Glad I was able to save someone else the searching and headaches I went through. Edit: Not sure if the rules allow me to post that link or not, but given that there isn't any sponsor supplying these, I see no valid reason why I shouldn't. I'm leaving it up. Would the gaiters from the new Sportster 1200N work? http://www.bikernet.com/news/images/PhotoID26265.j pg |

Nightster parts were not available yet, parts guy said he didn't think they would fit due to their 39mm fork. Bellacourse was one place I found too, if you notice they give no dimensions at all. Big_Koch, your profile pic doesn't have gaiters, have your tried them yourself? The fork brace seems like it's right in the way. I haven't tried any yet, but I did put them on my two previous bikes (both Yamahas) These I bought from a guy in Germany.

As it sits now, the bike is torn to shreds (or unbolted to pieces.) I have the boots on the forks. They're perfect as far as length and diameter. I shaved off my brace tabs, as I'm not running a fender, and the fork brace is functionally worthless. You're not going to find any boots that will clear the fender/brace tabs without some modification. Just cut the bottom lip of the boots to the correct length where they just touch the tabs and zip them on. |
