just like the title states!! im ready for some new rubbers on my bike... im pretty sure that the dunlops that are on my bike are atleast 8-9 years old, and i can really tell how hard the rubber has become when i start carving corners(A LITTLE SCARY!) im looking at a set of michelin pilot power meats, and would like to upgrade to a 180 rear tire... will it hit the belt or not? anyone running a 180? |

I run a 180 on my S2, no issues at all. Had a D208, just installed Pilot Road2's. |

it depends on a couple things.. what rims do you have on your bike.. the pm rims? or merchensies? with the pm rims it is not a problem.. they are a 1/2 inch wider.. if you have the others then you can still place a 180 on it but it will affect how the bike leans into a corner.. my bike dives into and handles corners much better with the stock 170 than the 180.. i stick with the 170 just for the better handling but i dont have the pm rims either.. hope this helps |

i think that answered my question... i have the marchesini wheels, but i understand the difference in running the bigger tire, which would seem to be a trait i would deal with regardless of the rim width. im keeping my eyes open for a set of PM rims. i did order my tires today and got a 180 rear. if i see a set of PMs show up on ebay or something this summer, ill definitely be upgrading also! thanks guys! |
