I've wanted a S2 since I first saw one in 1995 at the harley dealer, I finally bought one. Its a 96 S2 with 3500 miles, Its got all the touring stuff. But I dont think its a S2t, Because it has a white frame. Its got the hard bags, small and big with liners, and front fairing bags. I dont have the signature stuff but Im trying to get a hold of the last owner. Can someone decode the vin to find out any info on it (recalls, what number, etc)? (4mzrt11h5t3000065) I dont like the kick stand, Does it lock when rolled forward? I swear its going to fall. Im looking for a set of the side leg fairing. Whats a good price if I find a set? What the paint code for the bike, its a deep purple-blue color? I need to replace the turn signals and foot pegs are they still available? Was the stock aircleaner carbon fiber? Im sure Ill have more questions, Thank you, David

Hi Dave,The S2 kickstand is a pita. I just make sure the bike is secure against a curb so as to not roll forward or aimed up hill.I know that's not always convenient but that's the price you pay for this piece of art.stock sporty pegs are plenty available but not desirable, kinda mushy and prone to tearing and rolling .Paint is Black Sapphire pearl.leg fairings are on Epay or just post in the wanted section on Badweb. hope this helps.

That's one very nice looking S2! (S2T's had the grey frame) Looks like you have the, i guess you'd call it the 2nd gen shock. there's a better replacement for it but I've got one just like it and haven't had a problem. The color looks like Black Sapphire. You can get a surprising number of parts from a Buell dealer but they're not always cheap. Turnsignals and footpegs should be much but those leg fairings will probably be expensive. The stock air filter covers are carbon fiber, looks like someone added a insert to yours or replaced it with a screaming eagle cover. The kickstand is a common problem, I think most of us just get used to leaving the bike in gear when parked. I think there's a how-to buried in the archives about fixing the problem. |

The kick stand is supposed to lock, leave in gear at some point it will let go.Color is Black saphire pearl.Sikkens paint is no longer current. There are 2 sets of fairing lowers on E-bay,new set is $139 I belive.I bought a used set for $50,they need work.I have stock foot pegs front and rear and I believe I have stock shifter and brake rubber.Turn signals were generic,Trimph Buell should still be easy to get.Looks like stock air cleaner W/insert. |

boxxer3 pretty bike.. welcome to the world of s2.. where biker perch tediously at extream angles and have strong urges to take dives.. park in gear.. dont let idle on the side stand. the s2 is the only bike i know of where you can stick a 4x4 under the kick stand and have it still lean the right way.. some guys have bent there kick stand and like the results.. i made my own billet one and relocated the mount so it sits like a regular bike and can idle on the side stand.. just be careful.. i was close enough to catch mine when she taught me to always park in gear. |

Do a search on "Wilson bend". I've done it on both of our S2's, it helps a ton. Brad |

Thanks everyone, I'll look for the parts. The part number 96004-94y is for the touch up paint. I need the manufacture paint code to paint the lower fairings. Is Sikkens the only one with the codes, I might be able to have my paint shop color match it some how. I will try the kick stand mod anything will help. I love the bike just did a small 100 mile trip on it. Im tring to keep it stock or have the stock parts on hand. You guys have a ton of info on these bikes. Thanks again. david |
