Looks kinda like a Confederate. Maybe a rebel flag would be more appropriate. Why bother with an air cleaner? Put a velocity stack on it. You can't,or would not want to,ride in the rain, or dust anyway. Also reminds me of a pissed off wasp- cool! TT |

Thanks. She runs like a bullet. Had a pull done on her and she had about 95 ft lbs torque and 98 hp at the rear wheel and that was just after freeballing the the jet settings, but the air and fuel mix was good. Could easily get a bit more, but temp exhausted the motorcycle fund for now. It's a conservative build on the engine, just a huge torque band and not keyed for hp. At about 3.5k rpm, she gets PISSED. Did the engine a few years ago, just did the frame this fall. Yeah saw the confederate theme in the steep tank and small seat. That tank is dead sexy all by itself. |

I like that tank too I've wanted to buy a spare- they go for $150 or more on Ebay. Some people don't care for the Manta I love it myself. TT |

To each his own. Everytime a Buell frame gets butchered or a chopper is made the remaining Buells whole go up in value and become more unique. I thank you. |

Thanks Dread! Oh wait, that was a back-handed slam. Touche, Dread for the win! One can check KBB for the value of an M2, which I think went up by five bucks in my zip code when I fired up the saw-zall. As far as uniqueness, I don't know a website, but one certainly can sense it. Kind of like arrogance. |

"Kind of like arrogance." I winced when I saw your pics because I knew you were going to get a mixed reception from the tuber purists. I think the bike has some tasty bits and the more I look at it, the less it offends my sensibilities. Nothing wrong with the American monster you built if it suits your aesthetic. The frame could easily be modded to use an S1 tail, so it's not a total tragedy for a purist. Enjoy that bike; you're the only one that has to. |

"I got my manta for a steal... almost cherry and it was 60 bucks!" Heh... funny how you started out with the small tank and got the Manta... I started with the Manta tank but plan on using the small tank in the future. I traded a broken CF hamcan airfilter to Smoke for it. We both think we made out like bandits; he can repair carbon fiber and I can't. |

Do you have a printout of the dyno run? I would like to see the curve. Very Confederate looking, wouldn't even recognize it as an M2. I like the black fork lowers, maybe I'll try that next on mine. |

Got a tuning scheduled for May 1 and will share the results of that one. Completely understand where a purist is coming from, tubes in all shapes and forms are all awesome. Glad ya like it, and if it gives people some fun ideas, all the better! I would love a stock S1 to treasure and polish, lol. In fact, my world has never been the same since the dark days of 03 when they canned tubes and the 998. Instant ebay/cycle trader shopper. Looks good to me.... M2s are utility bikes that are made to be modified. In my opinion. Owner customizing is always better than a mail-order, bolt-together fad chaser. What sucks is seeing a cherry S1W turned into a redneck whatever. Or a cherry X1W. Those are the bikes that should be kept for posterity. In my opinion. White stripe X1s should be left alone too. |

Nice bike Mike it is still a Buell a modified Buell but a Buell not a Chopped something. Anyone who knows any thing about motorcycles will recognize it as a Buell. |

Very nice. I'm fixin' to put the sawzall to work on my rear frame so I can mount a tail section from a 96' S1 onto my 97' M2. Goodbye Corbin, hello assbuster. We really do suffer for our art. |

i like it. i saw some true "choppers" the other day and i just felt a little bit of me die inside. this one, on the other hand, is a nice tasteful modification. two thumbs up. i like the creative side |

"95 ft lbs torque and 98" That would mean that peak HP was realized at about 5300 rpm and then the torque dropped off very sharply. Doesn't sound realistic to me for a Buell engine. |

Do you like that hacked off back look? I mean, to each their own. I think it looks like it was modified that way to hide a mishap to the tailsection. Sorry, I'm not down on your ride, or am I? At any rate enjoy. |
