Does anybody know if a set of 1997 s3 thunderbolt hard bags would fit on a 1996 s2 thunderbolt without any major modifications? |

It will require modifications. There is a bulletin here somewhere detailing the steps. Let this thread sit for an hour or two and someone will post it here. Welcome to Badweb! |

some one may post pictures for you ,, they have in the past.. it took a special mounting kit to attach s3 bags on a s2.. at one time you could order the kit.. i imagine it would be quite the find these days.. |

The main bracket L1025.8 is still available for $402. The rest of the pieces seem to be couple-buck items and are readily available. |

No hack involved with installing this kit - takes the S3 bag points (and bags), puts them on a bracket that bolts right to the S2 tail section, and voila. S2.5 saddlebags, LOL. |
