JT, I am sure you can find one closer to your location for cheaper than what I would ask for mine. Joe and Travis, I have been thinking about it so I can do my next project. I talked myself out of it because I still need to do a few things to it and will ride it this summer to enjoy it. It is not perfect by any means but I need it to be a little closer to perfect than what it is. My actual intention was this; if someone offered me a fair amount for it at MBV I would have sold it. That was before I had put 100 miles on her. After the attention it got from other Bullers and riding her the other day, which is a story in itself because I ran into a 1 percenter club that I have a little history with. I decided no way could I let her go. I love my S2T but would get rid of the XB12R, XLH 1200 before the S1W. Of course the S1W would be long gone before the S2T. I could have not gotten away with what I did to those poor badass bikers on any other bike but the S1W. I may have to paint her a different color now LOL! |

Glad your senses are restored to proper working order, Frank. The S1W is a keeper, no doubt. Anytime you think of selling her, just call me- I'll be there to talk you down, buddy. If I were you, Id offload the XB for project funds since you can find another one fairly easily. Lemme know if you decide to...If I have the funding at the time, Ill be interested. Frank - I'm glad to see you're going to keep her. It took me from when I bought my '99 M2 new, until the summer of 2006, to find (and be able to afford) one of my own. I bought it May '06 with 1,100 miles (!) on it and won't part with it ever. Shaky, smelly, noisy, vinyl-tampon seat, tons of torque and nothing but attitude - just one awesome motorcycle. I've ridden many that are more comfortable, more useful, better handling...but nothing anywhere near as visceral. JT - as you can tell, I won't be selling mine...but I'll keep an eye out for you ;) |

Rat, it is one of the bikes I always wanted. In 97 I bought a S1 from your place and 6 months later the S1W came out. I wanted it so bad but I had a Sporty I was rebuilding and payments on the S1 so no way. I had to get a part time job in a bike shop to make payments (I was a E5 or E6 at the time). Then I had numerous tours overseas so I had to wait. I actually saw one for sale in great shape in Colorado Springs with the Nuclear Blue frame but at the time I could not afford it and was looking for a S2 anyway. I got lucky with this one and even though I picked it up real cheap I had to put about 2K into it to get it as is today and still not done. Unfortunately I had to pull parts from my Sporty in order to get her running. Next project is the Sporty. The S2 and S1 really are what got me into Buells in the first place. I loved a comment someone made to their kid at MBV while looking at my bike. Look, there is the bike that got Daddy into Buells... fuel = 800 dollars S1W = 2000 dollars to rebuild Camping at MBV = 40 dollars Other Buellers drooling over the S1W = Priceless JT, good luck, if you find something in this area and need a little help securing it let me know. |

Fine choice! You will have a few things to address, but a great bike nonetheless. Check out the X1 files and the KV for items to take care of. |
