If anyone has an "unknown year" bike, send your me your FULL vin number and I can run it for you. And if the datakeepers want to add a column or two, I'll be happy to send "selling dealer" and "in-service date" information to anyone who sends me a VIN too. For privacy reasons I obviously won't / can't send original owner information (unless the bike still belongs to them). I guess I could also get "original configuration" information too - factory color, wheel option and any parts that were SWR'd with the bike as new. | |||||

Ratbuell, I would be happy to add it to the comments column for now and will look into adding other columns as the need arises. What exactly does "in-service-date" mean? Is it the last time the bike was in for service? Frank | |||||

Pretty sure it means the first time it was sold, "put into service by an end user". Maybe. | |||||

Yep - "in service" is the date it was sold, or put "into service" from the dealership to an owner. Also the start of the warranty period. | |||||

Presumably a "real" owner. There were some (I haven't a clue how many, I know of something on the order of 10) cases where Buells, in order to get goodies from the Harley folks, where Buells were "sold" to store personnel. One guy bought an S-1 and found out 6 months later that the warranty has expired a year before he bought the "new" bike. Just a bit of info . . . this and warranty fraud were two things that really ticked me off. | |||||

Signature Series timing cover and documentation is on ebay for CA bike CA20/36 with the last four of the VIN 0020. If no one has this bike I will bid on it in case someone shows up with the bike someday. Frank | |||||

Updated List. It is getting better with each update. Just to let everyone know I have been recording the VINs for people that send them to me but I do not post the VIN with the updates, I only include the last 4. Items info I am looking for is as follows: - Last 4 VIN - CA or State Bike (the full VIN would indicate this as well) - Build Date (month and year is on the neck of the bike and the exact date is included with the documentation) - Cover Number - Signature Series Status (you have it or are looking for it) - Name - BadWeb ID - Year - Model (S2 or S2T) - Location - VIN If you have spare Signature Series Documentation there is a lot of info with it like the VIN that I can add. If there is anything that you think I should add let me know. Thanks for all that have been sending in their info. Here are the updated list.
