I have a T-Stormed 97 Cyclone with an HSR 42 Mikuni, s1 cams. I'm running a SuperTrapp IDS with 10 discs and open cap. I've gotten alot of the popping out of the carb with the air screw adjustment, but not all. I've heard by word of mouth that a 27.5 pilot jet and a 165 main jet is good for the Buell set-ups - Can anybody confirm this? Your thoughts please... |

On my 2000 M2,I found out that a 30 pilot jet,162.5 main jet,and the air screw out 2 1/2 turns....made it run real nice.I tried adjusting the pilot jets, by the book.......it didnt work,as I was told by a mechanic that builds harley motors.I followed his advice and put in the 30 pilot,as it fixed the low end problems I was having. The same guy told me he never goes bigger than a 165 main on a HSR 42.I dynoed my bike and found the 162.5 was the best jet for my bike.Give them a try. |

Thanks Rich. Its sounds like you may have found the perfect match. I've already bought a 27.5 Pilot Jet, so I'll start with that. I haven't got the main jet yet, but I think I'll try the 165, and use that as a baseline. Since jets are not that expensive, I'll get your combination (a 30 and a 162.5) and see what that does. Did you do anything to your needle? Raise or lower it? |

The clip on my needle is in the 2nd groove from the top,and the needle is a 97. |

Thanks again Rich, this will really give me a datum point to start from. I am convinced that the out-of-the-box HSR for XL motors are set up for the more abundant Sportster engines, and not our screamin' Mimies. Thats why they pop like crazy when you put them on a Buell, the jets are too small. |

Ahem, if you mean the photo on the Profile of Richieg150, I do believe that may be an M2 Cyclone, with the fairing of an S3. Which I agree, is the best looking combination out there. Maybe should be called the "MS5" or something, it's a great look. |

Technically,is would be called a M3,thats without hard bags.If I put those on it would be a M3T. |

Well to be honest, I've never seen an M2 with an S3 fairing. I thought it was an S3 at first because of the Manta Ray Tank. My M2 is a 97, and has the skinny S1 Tank and narrower tail section. But you M3 Cyclonebolt is the Bomb! Its just too cool! |

Richieg150: What mods were on your bike when you testing that jetting setup? |
