I've seen it done on anX1. It looked okay but his cylinders were the gray and not black. I think if they were black it would have looked much better. |

I had thought about it, but, by the time my jugs and slugs came in, I just wasnt that patient... and I bolted everything together... IF I tear it all back down, I will probably do the cutting... Why you asking? Looking for methods? What are you looking for? Chase |

i noticed the fins on the buell were not finished looking like a sportster... i was wondering if it can still be done without swapping jugs.. if i get a buell, its the first thing on my list.. |

Finished like that? I would say its gonna be damn near impossible to get a finished edge like that, with the jugs still in the bike... There really isnt much room there to work... Chase |

Doesn't matter if the jugs are finished prior to cutting or not. They take them down far enough so the only finish is the diamond cutting. We've sent a ton out for cutting at work for bagger folks. Me, I think of it as more nooks n crannies I have to clean. I hate cleaning.

finally! something I know about. what do mean without swapping the jugs? If you mean can it be done without taking them off the bike? then no, you must diss assemble the top end of the motor and send them to a qualified machine shop, like an h-d dealer that has the machines for it and someone who is certified. If you know someone who can do it without taking apart the bike, that would be awesome! (and most likely not true "diamond cut" because its not done on a lathe kinda thing) |

No, the tuber didnt come with finished fins... Though, if you were going through the trouble to do it, just pull them off, get a Cometic Top end gasket kit, new rings, and finish the fins yourself... In that picture, I bought those jugs like that... those are my 1250 jugs... But, you would finish them basically, using some of the methods for polishing... Get a good small air sander... start with a 80 grit, and work up to a 800 or 1000.... You can only get to the edges of the fins anyway... so, no worries...
