IIRC, Early pipes fit later bikes, but not the other way around. Someone told me this ages ago. |

First be absolutely certain as to the origin of the leak(s). It's amazing how oil can migrate from up top, like say from the rockerbox gasket region, all the way down to the engine case without leaving a visible trail. To be sure, wash the engine thoroughly, then spray some white powder deodorant, like talcum powder, onto all possible gasketed joints. Start and run bike long enough for the origin of the leak(s) to appear. If the base gaskets are truly the source of the leak(s), then nothing short of replacing them will stop the leak. If it is more of a weep situation at the base gaskets, then no worries other than having to clean the engine to keep it looking good. A photo would be great. |

Jumped on the ol Buell the other night and found out the tach light is burnt out. I cant find any old posts on that subject. I need to find what kind of light it is and the size. |

I just have to say how much I love my M2. I had surgery on my neck in June and did not ride anything from April through September. Much against my surgeon's wishes, I got back on the Road King mid-September. I planned to leave the Buell alone until my spine is fully healed, but... I was in the garage last weekend and it started staring at me. Top up the tires, check the oil, and presto! It's a little hard on an unconditioned upper body but a great workout. I LOVE that bike. |

Hello: I am the original owner, of a 99 M2 Cyclone. For the past month, when I am cruising along between 3k and 4k on the tach, I notice the tach will intermittently bounce. Even though I am maintaining a steady throttle. Sometimes it comes with a severe miss and or a cut out loss of power. Also when first starting out on a ride, it suffers a severe miss. Even though I have let the bike warm up; and is not missing. Last year I suffered a breakdown, caused by a loose wire to the Ignition Relay harness. In trouble shooting that, I went ahead and replaced the coils. Could it be an electrical or fuel issue. I am running a Pingel fuel tap, with in line fuel filter. Both of them as well as the tank vent line look okay. I have also replaced in the past intake gaskets. Any help would be appreciated. |

I finished replacing the rockerbox gaskets on my 00m2 on Wed. I followed the manual. I started it up today and it sounded like a metallic sewing machine. I let it run for about 4 minutes and it seemed to get better but i"m not sure. I had read that the rods need to bleed down. Thats why I waited a couple of days. Will this get better (quieter) the next time i start it up or did I do something wrong? |

Hi I could use some help with transmission problems. The bike has about 14,000 miles on it. I put about 1,500 Miles on it since I’ve had it and then the Trans Started to kick back down after an up shift or felt like it would slip then catch. Now I have to hold it in gear give it a little throttle so it will stay in gear otherwise it will go into neutral and is hard to put into first when stopped. When trying to put it into neutral the light flashes and it seems to go past the point that it needs to keep the light on this happens going up or down. Now on this site I have read that the shift drum could be warn or the pins could be coming out. I read there something about an updated detent plate? I also noticed that the clutch is at the end of its adjustment and will be replacing it. Does anyone have any Suggestions for a good replacement? Am I looking in the right direction? Can I fix the pin problem without taking the Trans out? I had to replace the stator on my FXR so I do know some of what is involved in this. Are there other things that I should look for? I already know that I need to replace the old style primary chain adjuster and I do have a repair manual on CD. This is my main transportation and I would like to know if it will cause more damage if I keep driving it like this till I can fix it? Thanks in advance for any help that you my offer. Ed |

Value of a pristine 2001 M2L with 6K miles on engine rebuilt at 3000 on the OD? It has the V&H exhaust, baker shifter, custom gel seat, and full set cortech softbags. I need a non biased estimate for an insurance claim. Thanks |

Hey all new to the boards. I have a 2001 M2L and i want to put the earlier seat on instead of the wide butt one it comes with. I'm having a lot of trouble locating a stock seat but i did find that the Ducati Monster seat is very similar in style. Has anyone heard of this and/or done it? And does anyone have a stock older seat available? doesnt matter the condition as long as i can bolt it up and get it reupholstered if need be. Thanks! |

Have a 2000 M2 need to replace voltage regulator will a voltage regulator from a hd sportster work? If so what year? |

Yes, the VR from the sportster will work. Look at the same model year to get the part number. The same part is used across several years of Tubers and sportsters. |

"I drained my transmission oil and more came out than I had put in.I drained oil tank and less came out. Is it possible for engine oil to leak into transmission?" Yes. Your crank seal is leaking engine oil into the primary. Not all that uncommon. There's a new seal available that is supposed to last a lot longer. Not difficult to change, just time consuming. |

Wrong place for a for sale add, and please put pictures with the add. They make all the difference in the world for this old of a bike. If you want to email details and pictures to Bill@KilgallonFamily.com, I'll put up the add here in the right place for you with pictures. Everyone else, I'm in Lebanon, and owned and loved a 2000 M2, and will likely be able to go up to Columbus to look at this one if somebody wants an independent opinion before they do a ship or a fly and ride (if you are serious). I don't think I know or have ever met Husker2000. It's not my old M2, I had over 30k miles on that one. |

No problem, I was offering to help, not complaining. I can't afford it, and don't have space for it, so please, for the love of God, don't let it be a grey or blue one with a volcano orange frame. |
