There's a few who've gone from 1" down to 7/8", not sure of anyone who's gone from 7/8" to 1" though. The S2's have 1" bars, clip-on format (sort of), so you might look to spare parts for those for the controls. |

I chased my tail on this one- but then again, Im not the most knowledgeable rider. I came to the realization that (duh) my new traction grips (7/8) would not fit on a 1 inch bar. Geez, Im dim sometimes. Please share if you find a total solution. There are some badass 1 inch bars i'd love to have on my bike from Debrix cycles. www dot debrix dot com |

All the 1" Buell controls are pre-96 HD parts, widely available. You could change the risers to HD, Custom Chrome, Drag, etc., as they are mostly 1". It'd take some time and a lttle cash, but it would be fairly easy to do. |

For those contemplating the switch to 1", I might sugest some of the current Sportster hand controls. They seem to have a better reach to the levers. Also, I'd LOVE 1" controls that ditched the effing ridiculous Harley turn signal controls as well as some replacement control module to eliminate self-cancelling. -Saro |

Sarodude. The self-cancelling is a wire at the back of the speedo that connects a reed-switch to the module. Just disconnect the wire (by taking the back cover off the speedo and unscrewing the wire's connection. That's for the the old-school mechanical speedo. Can't help you on the Blast. |

Eric- The Blast has standard, one handed, non self canceling, sane controls. On the Harley style crap, the Self Canceling is 1/2 my gripe. The other 1/2 is ANY use of the right hand. The right hand is responsible for 2 of the most important primary controls on the bike. I need to fidget it about constantly to use the right signal. I'd like some sort of drop-in, non-hack system which moves the turn signal switch to a one handed (left!) conventional style operation. Just for the record - my FXD has north of 40,000 miles on it. I've had plenty of time to get used to the things - and they SUCK AS BAD AS EVER. AAAARG!!! pills taken - chilling out -Saro |
