i know the polishing method well i just wonder if the triple clamps will still clasp tight enuf with the slight difference in diameter?

Should...before polish there should be a gap even when the clamps are tightened.

If in doubt...mark and mask the clamp area on the forks, and don't polish the clamp area.

i think that i will take ratbuells advice and just not polish the certain area that the clams go over. thanks for the advice

What part you going to polish? Just the sliders?
You should be able to polish the entire slider with no problem.
I'd not mess with the fork tube though. I had one that looked perfect but still weeped oil. No amount of polishing would stop the weeping.
I replaced the tube an the problem went away.
I've seen M2's with the sliders and tripple clamps polished. They looked great.

Hows things going for ya?
Things still moving along on the baby front?

Brad the baby is still on the way about three or four weeks to go it is a girl, Julia. As far as the forks go it is for my new inverted showas i want to polish the upper tubes,... legs?

That is fantastic news, you must be pumped!
Re the forks, I didn't realize you were going inverted.
No harm in taping off the clamped section although I don't think there would be a problem with a total polish job.
The clamping pressure is pretty high on the tripple clamp.

yeah i am doing a full S1 tail conversion, chrome wheels and frame polish forksand swingarm crossroads bars D&D full exhaust 42 mm mikuni ect....
