If you do the rockers, be careful what you use. I did the middle section on my S1W. After only a few rides, the paint pealed. I'm thinking there may have been some residue left from the polishing. I know it wasn't the heat because the paint on the heads and paint on the header heat sheild are still in tact. I haven't decided on a fix yet. It will be a winter project. BTW....very nice looking ride!!! |

if you have a way of powder coating them, then that is what i would do if you could find a color that would work with your scheme. i hope that when it's done it looks just like it does in the photo shop pics. that is going to be one nice ride. |

I pulled the forks apart and made an adapter up so I could mount it in the lathe, used my power file to smooth out, then I gave it a little polish. They will be powder coated black. I removed a little extra material from the mounting area as the powder coat goes on at around 70 microns thick Here's some pics of the leg in the lathe! Sorry about pic quality as the batteries are stuffed in my Camera. Before and after (Message edited by joesbuell on August 17, 2007) |

Dayammm nice stuff Jodie! Your making me ache to get back on mine, even though I doubt mine will turn out as nice. Cool stuff. That anodize is hard to get off by sanding, didn't think of turning it down. Nice work |

I didn't turn it down! I used the lathe to spin it and then used my power file to do the work. Then finished with wet and dry and some Autosol metal polish. Didn't take long at all! Now there apart I'm going to look at getting the legs gold nitride coated, the upper and lower parts are getting done with black powder coat. Should look freakin Hot! |

Things are ok, the Buells in pieces awaiting powder coating and paint. Very low on cash at the moment so things are at a stand still. I'm planning to use a 07 Yamaha R6 silencer on the bike to save on some weight(Titanium). It will cross from the right at the front and exit on the left behind the foot peg. Should look cool and sound sweet as the R6 pipe is only short and straight through! Cheers I'll keep ya posted Jodie |

I purchased an S1 solo tail section off an Aussie Buell forum member. It's new old stock with some scratches but I don't care as I'm painting it. I also made an ally cover for the holes in my tank so I don't get crap in there when preparing for paint. Here's some pictures Cheers Jodie |

good to see you up and running still jodie. can't wait for the final pic to be sent. this has definitely been a work in progress for you and everyone else who has kept an eye on it. if you ever get a chance to make another one of those covers for the tank let me know how much it would be to make and ship to the states(Chattanooga, TN) i thing that would be nice to have around incase one of these other guys wanted to paint there bike. i'm just guessing, but that should work on any tuber wouldn't you think. |
