So after the initial disappointment of finding out my bike was dropped, I decided to concentrate on the good stuff. Had them look for the updated chain tensioner (which is there), reset the TPS and AFV, and perform the 10k service. All is well! The rough spot between 1800-3200 rpm is now gone! It still gets poppy in changing load conditions, but it doesn't surge and the whole power delivery seems to be a lot more linear and smooth. I didn't realize how big a deal this was until the engine behaved itself in the few curves I take around town. It was almost like a different bike.. The curves were just fun, without having to think about a rough running motor. I realize that range might be a little low for aggressive carving, but for cruising (which is what I do in the city), it's where I want to be. Tubers rule! |
