On my 01 S3T i've been having enough pressure build up in my oil tank to blow the cap off if I ride hard. Mods are American Sport Bike intake, V/H pipe and race ecm. I keep the level midway up the dipstick or slightly lower. Why all the pressure? |

Check if your breathers aren't blocked. |

Make sure to check the oil AFTER a ride. What kind of breather setup you have? Could it be clogged? Mud dauber wasps work fast. |

Could very well have a crushed oil tank vent hose though. |

Crazy: My '01 S3T did that too. I bought it used in 2005 from a Honda dealer. They way overfilled the tank. I dumped their oil and filter and refilled with the correct amount but it continued to blow off the cap. I suspect the tank vent tube got plugged or severely restricted with oil from their overfilling. I pulled the vent line off the tank and blew it out with an air hose. If you do this, BLOW GENTLY WITH THE AIR HOSE. I got a bit too much of a burst of air and it made quite an oil mess. After that it has been absolutely fine. On my S3T and M2 I always run the oil level near the top mark on the dip stick and have no cap blow off problems. Mark |
