Hey everyone. I know this has been dicussed before but i cannot seem to find it. I have a 2000 cyclone and would really like to get a inverted front end. I found one locally from a 1999 thunderbolt s3. Will this work? what all will i need in order to make this swap work? Thanks for the help -Zach |

If you have the entire front end, it will bolt right up without modifications. You can reuse your current brake and wheel, but you'll need a new fender if it's not included. |

Yup, straight swap with the triple clamps. (check my profile, used x1 parts but it's the same thing.) Otherwise have a machine shop measure new forks and open up the old clamps to the right diameter. -Mike |

Anybody know if the axle is the same in both front end assemblies? This seems to be a pretty popular swap. I've got a 2000 S-3 complete fork assembly less the axle. Do I need to order a new axle and spacers to use my M-2 wheel? Thanks for everyones help! |

Dont need the axle .. can re-use the M2 axle .. You will need flyscreen/headlight mounts from the X1 though - it will allow you to retain the M2 look with the inverteds .. Be prepared to replace the steering head bearings/races .. as long as it's apart, you'll want to do it Also see my profile pic ... |

Might want the spacers, I got new ones when I did mine, don't recall if I actually needed them or not though...

Thanks for the info. I was planning to do the stem bearings as you suggested. The bike has an S3 fairing on it now so I should be set! |

The only time you have to worry about spacers being right or wrong - is if you pull an inverted set from an earlier bike (pre 99) with the speedo drive and cable .. but either way it doesn't matter - just reuse the axle and spacers from the M2 - a few less parts to buy .. |
