That motorcycle intrigues me greatly. It has to be 10 miles, or less, from my house and I've never seen it. |

I have seen this bike on ebay as well. I must admit that my knowledge of the S2 is very limited. I have spent the last couple of days reading the BadWeb post. I replaced my S1 with a XB12R and missed my tuber so much that I decided to sell my Electra Glide and get another tuber, nothing newer than a 98. When I first saw it I thought it was too much money but did not realize the significance of the S2 Signature Series. I guess I am asking you guys if this is a reasonable price for this bike? Of course if I bid and win I will need to make a road trip to NC as I live in Colorado. I really hate not being able to see the bike in person but any reason to get back to NC is a good one. Frank |

Zero history on the seller. Maybe one of the local Badwebbers can contact the seller and drop by for an up-close lookover of it before you bid on it. That one looks nicer than my S2, and that price wouldn't touch mine (not today anyway). |

Mike, I'd volunteer to take a peak, but I live in fear of it following me home. I'd make some poor BWB'er mad and the wife,,,,oh my,,,,if it were black I could probably hide it in the herd. |

Thanks for the info Mike. Bigdaddy, if you happen to see it, even if it follows you home, let us know the condition. I am not sure where that town is in NC but my brother lives in the RDU area so I may need to contact him to see if he can pick it up if I bid and win. That no history on ebay and the poor pics really have me nervous. Frank |

Frank, I could pop in and look at it for you one day this weekend. RDU isn't a bad drive from this area -- 160 miles to the outer edge of RTP if that helps? I'm not so sure I'd be comfortable with someone spending their money based on my opinion of a motorcycle. I'm an addict to all things with two wheels and the S2's have been calling me for years. So, if the bike's not been wadded up badly I'm going to love it and your opinion may differ greatly. All that being said if you do somehow find a way to make it work I've got places to put it under roof until you can gather it up. I'm a bit sketchy, but semi-trustworthy. I could even keep it ridden for you,,,,,,or not,,,just saying. |

Bigdaddy, sounds like we are cut from the same cloth. As long as it has not been cut up and butchered and the frame is straight I think the price is good. I just sent the seller a email asking about the bike (history etc). From looking at the picture with the bike facing towards the camera it looks as if the left mirror (as you look at the pic) is hanging differently than the right. The pics are poor quality, the seller does not have history, and it is a long way from home. I would trust another BadWebber than knows S2s in a heartbeat. Thanks Bigdaddy Frank |

The mirror is a typical thing with S2's, some drop and dangle and don't stay put, others do, some go to great lengths to stabilize their mirrors, some just replace them, mine are doing just fine (so far, knocking on laminate artificial wood desktop). |

Bigdaddy, sounds like we are cut from the same cloth. Uh, well, if that's true you do know that we don't have any bragging rights? I've got in-progress projects out the wazzo and still find time to collect new ones If I can help I will and there's plenty of folks on Badweb that know me so feel free to ask around --oh, yea, I'm not looking for anything either. Storing a motorcycle costs me nothing. |

Mikej, thanks for the information. Bigdaddy, I am going to look into having it shipped (if I win the bid) I have been in contact with the seller and will call him tonight. He is the third owner of the bike. Sounds like none of the owners road it much. That will change if I get it. Of course I need to talk to the wife. She may put the skids on this real quick. Frank |
