Tom- Many X1 owners say the same thing. A fairly easy solution is to use a set of blast handlebars. You can use your stock cables and it gives a couple of inches of relief. |

M2 and S3T bars will fit (I think they are the same as Blast bars or very close to them). I've ridden an X1 with S3T bars and the seating position is bolt upright. |

Put S3T bars on my X-1 last year (thanks, Appleton H-D Buell!) and they made a world of difference. About 2in (or so) higher, and the stock cables fit. Made the riding position much more comfortable, for me anyway. |

Honestly, you shouldnt be leaning on the bars to begin with.. Your legs should be bearing the weight... You should be able to get into riding position, and remove your hands from the bars... without smacking your face on the triple... Putting that much weight, especially to where it hurts, is BAD... can lead to too much feedback... and... Carpal Tunnel.. but, that is a whole other ball of wax... Chase |

Go higher. You can pick up 1 and 2 inch risers. I think cables will be fine with the 1 inch though you may have to go to longer cables w/ the 2 inch. Also stock seat tends to push you forward, changing mine took some of the weight off my wrists. |
