I have two older Buell seats I'm trying to identify. And as usual the local Harley/ Buell dealer was no help at all. They both look like early S1 or S2 seats. The first tag reads M0120.C with 287.A in smaller numbers under that and the other seat tag reads M0090B. Anyone have a clue what there for? | ||

I think that the M0090B seat is for an S3/S3T. No idea on the other... | ||

This is off my 1995 S2, a number stamped in white on the bottom of the seat maybe reads 025940 (but it's smeared and hard to read)  Bottom side  Rear view showing seat lock hole  Attempted close up of seat lock hole  Close up of seat lock hole  I've got a new never used '96 S2(T) seat buried in a closet that has the retainment bar that was added under the front half of the seat. The dog, in case you're curious, never stops trying to play and loves to catch and play with pine cones. The other dog was respectfully sleeping in the shade under the picnic table and staying out of the way.  | ||

Found the new seat in the closet. Number written on bag (may or may not be a good number)  Bottom view showing added retainment bracket  Un-butchered seat lock hole  Number stamped on bottom of seat pan  Hope these help some. (The dog likes tennis balls too.) | ||

On the Chicago Harley parts search the number 52010-94Y has this description: "Seat S2 D" Retail $138.00. The other numbers show no results. HTH! | ||

Pine cones - no problem, birds _ probably no problem, part numbers? - only if they're written on the side of a dog biscuit, and then I'd have to be quick enough to get the number before the biscuit disappeared. | ||

There is a M0090.T listed in the obsolete parts book as "Low profile Seat" obsoleted 11-99. | ||

Both are S2 one early one later.. The NOS is the later and uses the frame U bar catch to help hold it in position and later lock bar on the key latch... You can also see the different foam used between the seats as well as the fiberglass seat pan on the earlier one, the later one has a Kydex bottom... The earlier seat pan looks a lot like a Corbin and uses rivets like a Corbin... | ||

Pretty sure the seat in the top photos is a Corbin - it appears to have the 'flatter' seating area that they designed into their seats. What S2pengy said about the rivets sounds right to me, too. The both are S2 seats for sure - NOT S1. S1 seats are just slightly larger than a cell phone, but without the comfortable padding. AL | ||

Just a note, the seats I pictured above are mine and not the ones MrsMichele was trying to identify, just posted pics to help her figure out what she might have. Also I'm pretty sure the first pic I posted is not a Corbin and any visible flatness making it look Corbinish is simply from my using it. I've sat on a Corbined seat on an S2 that a woman owned down at Uke's during an event and it sat me well farther back in the saddle than mine does. MrsMichele, did any of this help? Any chance you can post pics of your's? | ||

The Buell part # (sometimes internal, sometimes external - those who've been around Buell parts long enough will know what I'm trying to say), for a seat has always been M0090.something. The '.something' coding is what I've been trying to remember as I read this thread. I am certain the S2 seat was M0090.8 originally. IIRC, '.A' was the '96 S1, '.B' was the '97 S3, '.C' was the '97 S1, '.D' was the '97 M2. The M0120.C number posted throws me off somewhat. Perhaps it could be the S1 twin tail seat (listed as H-D part # 52445-97Y on the twin tail instruction sheet I have), or even the S1 pro series solo seat used on the S1W's. It's times like these that I wish I had access to the library of part books like Court does, as it would sure refresh my memory. Pictures would definitely help - most people, myself included, can identify Buell parts easier by seeing them than by being given the part number(s). On a related note, the local Harley/ Buell dealer was no help at all. is pure rubbish. Unless something has changed in the H-D to dealers computer system, they can figure it out. Most likely they just don't want to, as it is a lot easier selling someone all the chrome accessories for their bike than trying to help out someone who realizes the truth about chrome. All they should need to do is put in the part numbers you listed and they will come up superceded to the 'correct' (i.e. currently used) part number. 1313  | ||
