Will somebody or everybody put to rest the mixing tires demon! i have a dunlop 205 on the front and a belt worn rear 205. i am ordering a tomahawk t3 180 or 190 tomorrow(also help on which size will 100% fit an X1) im not racing on a track, do most of my wot going straight, and will be going a max of 80 on a highway turn and maybe 55 on a back road. will the difference in tires hinder anything? or is a dunlop qualifier a better option? the tomahawk is very affordable just to burn the center out of it in 2000 miles again. |

I bought a set of Pilot Roads. Great price, great handling. I found them on line for around a 100 bucks. In fact, the person who works on my bike likes them so much, she bought a set! |

Jedville, the person who you entrust to work on your bike is a she. You might want to get a second opinion.lol |

I am also running Dunlops right now but after looking and actually handling the Metzler Sport Tech at the races I believe that will be my next choice. There was a thread earlier and I believe the general consensus was it didn't matter if you had two different brands on a bike. Some prefer to change both at the same time and use the same brand but IMHO that is just a personal preference. As for the tire size I prefer the 190 over a 180. I have a '99 X1 and it will fit, though it is tight. I currently have a 180 only because the service guy took it upon himself not to wait for the 190 to come in. Nice fella' ain't he? There's actually a set of Metzlers on the bay right now. Someone had them on a cruiser and it didn't work out. They have less than 900 miles on them and last I checked they were $10 each, not bad if you can get them mounted cheap enough. |
