I've been riding tbe wheels off my '02 Cyclone and I'm really getting to like it. What I need now is some storage. I'd like to be able to carry some gym clothes, a towel, a couple of sweatshirts and etc. What tank bags are recommended? I would prefer to just leave the bag on most or all of the time and not have to remove it to gas up. Thanks. | ||

Any tank bag will have to be either removed or swung out of the way to put gas into the tank. I just unclip the front straps of the tank bag and leave the rear strap connected and flip it around and set it on the seat while I fill up. Your next option would be either a tail bag or Ventura rack and either use the large Ventura bag for your gear or bungie your own bag onto the shorter rack. Other people just use a daypack on their back. | ||

I used to take my bike to the gym all the time. I just used a cheap backpack to carry my stuff in. Not sure a tank bag could easily carry my shoes and flip-flops, sweat clothes, towels, shampoo and deodorant, weight belt, water bottle, etc. | ||

I use the Buell tank bag on my Cyclone, but it's not enough for the gym. The Wolfman tail bag holds more, or for ease of use and flexibility, go with the Ventura system. | ||

I'm currently using a backpack, as I ride the bike for all non-work-commute transportation (OK, a lot of times I use the Norton, which has the same issue) and I'm trying to get away from that as the backpack is heavy. What's a Wolfman tail bag? | ||

I can recommend the 40Liter Harro Elefantenboy tank bag. Enough storage for any kind of gym clothes and if you like,for a dumbbell as well,  You don't have to remove that bag to fill up the tank. i would recommend the cortech bag but their customer service sucks like you wouldn't beleive. i'll find something else next time. | ||

I looked at the Wolfman site. I like those Summit saddle bags. I forgot to mention that the DPO cut the tailpiece on my bike, apparently to allow saddlebags, so I think they might fit. Anybody use those? | ||

Whatever you do, don't buy a magnetic tank bag! I see them for sale all the time for "Buell". I don't know which Buell they might fit, but it's not the Cyclone. I have the Quest bag, but never use it. I just bungee stuff to the back seat, sometimes in a backpack. |
