Does the bike vibrate more with the solid mounted exhaust? I tried researching your pulley combination and confused the heck out of myself (too many numbers). How does it compare to the standard X1 gearing? If it's different how does it affect the belt length. Nice job!! Cant wait until it's done! |

No difference that I can notice, the XB series are all solid mounted as far as I have noticed. I have a 26T front pulley from Baker's and a heavily modified 55T tube frame Buell rear pulley. I'm running a 135T drive belt from a XB12 Uly/Ss My stock setup was 29/61 giving final drive of 2.10 which at 100kph sat on 3000rpm nice power and good fuel economy. My current setup 26/55 gives me a final drive of 2.11 so should not be far off stock set up. check for yourself http://www.nightrider.com/biketech/calc_gearratios .htm I'm happy with that |

It's going to stay as is until I can afford a performance rebuild. I'd like it to be redone silver with black heads. |

How is the rear pulley modified? Was it necessary to run it on the xb wheel? BTW, love what you've done. Shows what can be done if you put your mind to it. |

Thank you Jodie. Man, you have alot of time in your creation and I want to say, ITS AWESOME! Beautiful work. Wish you were closer, like on the same continent, so I could see it in person. Different in every sense. Appropriate for you and your mutant bike. |

Guess what? I rode my Mutant about half an hour ago! Awesome! even with no front brake! The Mrs followed in the car as it's not registed. I have a souvenir in a little burn on the right leg from the rear header(My fault for wearing shorts!) note to self: make a little heat shield for rear header... Other then low air pressure in the rear tyre the bike felt great!!! It has a 2003 sportster transmission in it and must have different ratio's as they feel closer. Turned a few heads too! Jodie |

Jodie, try ebay for the small S1 tail. Or RRC, they have shorties too. To make it more 'one of a kind' try to fit an xbs tail and seat |

"To make it more 'one of a kind' try to fit an xbs tail and seat ; )" What are you saying don't you think I've already achieved that! I like the XBS tail, but I like the S1 tail more! |

I mean "to make it EVEN more one of a kind" And besides, the XBS seat won't fit very well on the S1 tank... But you already achieved the winning price for originality. |

Well Buellers! My parts arrived today and Man St Paul H/D are awesome! 5 days delivery from there to Australia! I was supposed to do some work around the house but I had to fit these parts These photo's are from my mobile phone as the batteries are stuff in my camera! I made the exhaust clamp out of this stainless steel sheet a mate gave me, I could have bought one but I wanted to use the welder! I used the same stainless to make the oil cooler mounts, I went to local engineering joint and bought some stainless steel cap head bolts to hold the oil cooler on. I also made a base for my dash setup, I'm using my tacho, and I'll be using this digi-Beast electronic speedo. I made a dummy of the speedo for size reference. I will be building the dash up so that the tach and speedo are level with each other. To top the day off I went and put some air in the tyres, then went for a blast out a back road! F@#king awesome ! cant wait until it's finished! Jodie Video link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z_RkjDC4wQc |
