Laid the M2 down and found a fellow badwebber willing to give the hook up on some new bars. (I LOVE THIS FORUM AND MY FELLOW BUELLERS!!!) Bars are from a 97 S1- will the large manta tank impede 'em??? |

I'm not quite sure, but I think the handlebars are the same. My 'old' S1 with stock handelbars.

If they don't work, let me know...I have the bars I took off my S1W (manta tank). I think they're in the laundry room of all places <shrug> |

The only real difference between the M2 bars and the S1 bars is width ... the S1 bars are actually wider ... but either way - no matter what *stock bars* you choose - you will not have an issue regardless of which gas tank .. the only time you will have issues when you run clip-ons or crossroads style clip-ons - then it will matter ... (I have both an S1 and M2 and noticed the width difference and really didn't notice anything else much different) |

Thanks Brian, I didn't know that. How much difference is there? I like to have smaller handlebars for riding between traffic in rush hours. Almost got me killed the other day. |

M2 bars are 28 inches... the S1 bars are 30 inches .. So basically just about a 2 inch difference .. Couldn't get exact on the M2 because of the grips ... with grips it was around 28.5 inches .. the S1 bars are off the bike without grips - measured 30 inches .. |

Torquemonster, I don't need them that bad, but would be nice to have, mine are discolored from the 'shop fire'. Looks to me like my Uly bars are the same bend, but maybe 1" taller & with a cross-bar. I raised my S1 bars 1". See here- http://www.badweatherbikers.com/cgibin/discus/show .cgi?tpc=47623&post=945859#POST945859 I would be tempted to get some Uly bars if I could get them, stock, in chrome. I would like the cross-bar too. S1 bars should work fine on your M2, & you might like them being a little wider.

I'm also in need of S1 bars, so can I get in line for Rat's? Anyone else know of another source for S1-like bars? Does Renthal or anyone else make bars with a similar bend? (in case I need to look elsewhere) |

Thank you T-monster & Wilee-C! T-monster, you would have to send it via the US post office. I am in Alaska & fed-x or ups shipping here is very costly. Assuming that works for you, I will PM you some info. First I'll try to save you the trouble of getting a shipping quote. It depends, but I doubt it will be over $30. T-M, can you tell me what the size of the box is that the bars came in, & if it shows a weight, that too? Then if you give me your Zip code, (32502?), I can go here to see what the mailing cost will be. http://postcalc.usps.gov/ I'll then PM you that info along with my address, e-mail, etc. Thanks again guys, because of my location it can be a real bear to get things sent here. Just to much $$$ for some things, & not much Buell stuff locally. Otherwise my S1 would be a lot more tricked out. Let me give you an example. Years ago I bought a KT pipe from someone down South & had them send it to a relative, in Washington State, that was semi-near the place that I wanted to JetHot coat the pipe. They hand delivered it to the Jet Hot place. After that business coated the pipe, they sent it here via UPS or FedX, did not tell me beforehand what the shipping charges would be. They charged my card about $85-$90 for the coating, no complaint there. $136 for shipping! : ( Love my S1 the bestest, I intend to keep it running for a long time!

Ill get the measurements in about 4 hours (clock-out time!) I tore into the box Matt packed 'em in as if it were christmas, but I think it was 6-8 inches wide by 2-3 feet long. Ill get proper specs for ya- and MY zip code is 32570- Milton, Florida. Hopefully the shipping via USPS wont be too bad. This firewall prevents me from seeing the pic you posted, but its a Buell, so Im sure its a stunner. |

Nah, man. I DESTROYED the box. Anyways, Pm me your shipping address and Ill pm you a ship amount, send the bars out, and you can just send me a $ order for the cost of shipping. If its more than $20.00 Ill get up with you before I send em. I wouldve gotten with you sooner, but work is the only opp. I have to jump online since a virus ate my desktop @ home. Sorry~! "Nah, man. I DESTROYED the box." Ha! Yeah, I suspected that too, from what you said before. No worries. "Ill pm you a ship amount, send the bars out, and you can just sendme a $ order for the cost shipping." That would be cool. I will still send you $30, even if it's less. If it's more, I'll know what to send. Thanks TM, -- PM sent. |
