I'm thinking of letting go of my 1995 S2 ThunderBolt. All original, just serviced, 5600K miles.

By the way that's the original rotor and fender as well. Good stuff. |

Did you have a price in mind for that collectors dream? BTW I'm no collector, I'd ride it till the wheels fell off. |

I was thinking $4500.00, but I am willing to talk if someone is seriously interested. Like I said, she needs a good home. |

Court - is the fender different somehow? I'd have to go look at the one on my bike to make sure... |

Original S-2 fronts were very thick fiberglass and had a different front profile than the S-3 front,(IIRC it was ABS/plastic) which is what you got if you ordered a replacement fender and did not know better. |

So, fiberglass is original, and ABS is different. Got it. I'll have to check mine, thanks |

The S2 fenders curve over in front of the forks deflecting airflow outward. The S3 replacement fenders are bug scoops and don't deflect airflow outward. ('scuse me now whilst I go hide from the S3 people....) |

And the S3 fenders have slightly wider spacing between the mounting holes (at least mine does!) It helps to "slot the holes a little so the fender isn't twisted out of shape when you tighten the bolts down. rt |

Like I said.... ALL original. It is very hard to find one like this. As it was from the factory in 1995, untouched. |

Your S2 is totally cool! Lovely bike! I hope it goes to a nice home where it will be ridden, cared for and appreciated. If I did not already have an S3, I would go for it! I passed it on to my brother. Cheers |

Those S2's are nice rides. We don't have them a lot round here. I think only 3 or 4 in this country. |

On the front curve - my S1W has a fender that's an inverted L shape that comes back along the center axis of the bike and then legs out in front of the fork. My S2 has one similar to the picture above - it actually seems to be a larger fender, and the curve starts towards the centerline of the bike and arcs out cleanly as an "outside" curve, nearly around the leading edge of the fork tube. I need to get out and check the material...wife's been keeping me hopping last couple days, haven't had a chance to ride or go in the garage. <withdrawal!> |
