With all the different race ecms out what is the rule of thumb on max rpm for a stock bottom end? I know the Pro Series is like 6400rpm or something like that but I have seen Dyna systems and others that go much higher like 7500, 8000, 9000, 9500. Is the 6500 mark about the most you want to run? |

I run to 7 no prob, but I also have a XB top end. The bottom can take a lot of RPM it is the top that is the problem, anything above 7500 and you risk floating a valve... |

Stock rev limiter is set to 6800r/pm The race module too. That's what I ride. But me and my 1250cc M2 very seldom need more than 5k for a refreshing ride. Most of the time we're riding between 3 and 4k. Torque and cornering speed is what counts,if you ask me.And tubers are able to give you more than you need of both, without squeezing them beyond the well considered factory set red line. Ralph |

I've had mine set at 7100 (which the factory now uses for '08's), but I have forged pistons, an XB top end, and a modified oiling system. For a stockish bike I'd stick with 6800. |

I have several Dyna systems and all only go as high as 7500. |

I'm using a stand alone rev limiter that goes to 12000RPM |

Chris I run mine at 7000 with 1250 and upgraded heads. I frequently use these extra RPMs. But I don't expect to put more than 5000 miles a year on this bike. Joe (Message edited by bad_karma on July 28, 2007) |
