Well, it sure seems like I and my tubers got a little older this weekend. Not many Tubers at the Homecoming. Maybe two s2's? Some folks were not familiar with the tubers at all. wow. I remember the day when S1's, S2's, and M2's were everywhere at homecoming. Now people come over and wonder what they are? ahhahahah 2008 seems to be a good year. Watch Buell grow with this one...thanks REX

Seen that video of the new bike, yeah we just went Oooollldd Schoooolll! I love mine. I'm too big for the others. Maybe we can call ourselves Retro? |

No matter what they come up with, tubers will always be the best! I'll never sell my S1!! So, will the new listing in forums be "obsolete XB's? |

The older they get the more I know it will be harder to let them go .. Being a local is nice -- I rode one bike to the factory on Friday, left and came back with the other ... (BOTH being tubers !!) |

Awww Tattoo'd_dude, that's just not fair;) but I don't know which is more not fair; having two tubers or living close enough to take turns riding each one to Homecoming! Yeah, I'm really feeling old right about now but after the front fork rebuild on my S2, the old girl is more spry than ever! Eh? what's that you say? 1125 what? Speak up son-ny! |

I think, as is Buell's practice, that we will see new products based on this platform including a T. I also think in the next 5-10 years we will see the value of our tubers go up, just like what you see with older Ducatis..... |

I don't know. Erik was asked point blank if Buell would bring a T model to market ever again in the seminar at Homecoming, and his answer was pretty non-committal. I really got the impression that he had about 6 bikes on his mind that he would like to build before he worries about another T model. We've got the Uly, I think that's as close as it will get for a good long while. But that was just my impression. Hopefully one of the major makers like Givi will come out with a real kit for the 1125R including low profile side cases and a top-case big enough for a helmet... I suppose they only will if there are enough sales of the bike to make it worthwhile for them... |

Naustin - don't be surprised if you do see a touring model introduced ... might not be based on the 1125r but you may very well see one ... factory people and Erik alike were all over Steve Mackay's TT .. (with R front and Uly tail w/bags .. ) as well as many Bueller's ... Well Scott ... I did pretty poorly ... again - never having run my bike at the dragstrip- I didn't expect a whole lot .. but ... 12.8 at 112mph ... (very poor 60' time ... I wanted that front end to stay down ... so I babied it on the launch ) I have not switched exhausts or carb yet .. I can say though - I did not do as bad as this one guy riding a Busa ... I had better times than him !!! he ran a 13 or 14 something ... and basically stood the thing straight up at the line before taking off ... I do agree with you though .. I think our bikes due to new model introductions and all of the chopper guys tearing down these bikes that our tubers will go up in value .. |

Brian, Great to meet you! Sorry I could't get over to your place and enjoy a bit of your hospitality. You're right, on Thursday night Erik was looking at Steve's bike between sets and appeared to be very impressed. Steve said here was only one fab'ed part for the whole conversion. A simple bracket to re[position the speedo if memory serves. I want one of these bikes! Brad |

I still don't see anything replacing my S3T (not as of yet anyhow)...I am interested in what the future of Buell holds...but just because it is OLD SCHOOL doesn't make it BAD SCHOOL...Long live the TUBERS!!!!!! |

Essthreetee - Steve Mackay also owns an S3T .. basically said if Buell won't build a modern S3T he would .. check out the pictures about it, I believe he's posted many shots over on the XB board .. (not that it replaces the soul or character of the tuber - but it is a nicely done bike and would be a good base for a modern S3T if Buell were to come out with one) That said ... I love my tubers !! Considering adding an S2 or S3 to the stable ... Would round out the collection nicely... |

That 1125R sure is awesome, and it's tail is nicely similar to the XBs. Wouldn't it be sweet if Steve Mackay's trick worked on the 11 too?! |

It was the Sportster engine that attracted me to Buells in the first place. There will always be a tuber in my garage if I can help it. But the 1125 is the future and I want a to be a part of it. |

Old school jest became cool school. This new 1125R will put Buell on the big stage. Trickle down effect, old school retro tubers will be hot items once again. This will save the old bikes from the chopper shops. I forsee all the old once forgoten, neglected, unwanted Tubers bought up and returned to pristeen show quality bikes. Amen. |

Kind of off base but I wanted to share something that happened yesterday on my "antique tuber". I FINALLY got it out yesterday, albeit just to go to the bank. When I pulled out to the light I was off the back corner of a beater pickup with bumper stickers that said "Let those who ride decide" and "We don't make the most, just the best...HD". There was a big hamhock of an arm hanging out the window with a bar and shield tattoo on it and there I sat lumping away. I could see them in the mirrors breaking their necks trying to see and tell what it was. I was going straight and they turned left so I opened it up in their ear. Would have loved to have been a fly on the dash when that happened. I think the tubers will get a little more "respect" now that the 1125 has appeared, by those who know the 'r'evolution of Buell anyway. O.K. I'm done now. Time to start hoarding parts for these extinct cycles. |

I purchased my 99 X1 just a month ago. I had always wanted a Buell and really wanted a new model, but when i found the one i bought i knew i had to have it. The wife and I were tinkering in the garage and she told me she had heard something about a new Buell model being introduced. Of course I played dumb and acted as if I knew nothing about it. Her comment to me was hopefully right on. "I know you have seen it and I know you will probably get one. Do not sell or trade your 99. It will probably be worth something at some point". |

My tuber will not be restored to pristine condition. It has 33,000 miles, scapes, scratches, scars and crossroads handlebars (sorry, couldn't resist). I bought it to ride and ride I will!! It's great to be "Old Skool"!!! As for the 11, I don't know if I can ride a bike that looks like it has the bags on the front end... have to see it in person. |

I don't think the tubers are going to take a big a hit as the XB's. Quite the opposite for quite awhile. As thousands of new customers who had previously not really known anything about Buell's become interested in the history of the company, there will be a certain percentage that will desire older models. Just as there will be guys whose 1st Ducati is a 1098 but learn of the history and decide to add a bevel drive 750 to the garage. The tubers will be that bike and like that bike they were built in relatively low numbers, while the current Firebolt will be (to some) like the 999. I like the 999 but would only buy one for a really good price. The other XB's are different enough to stand on their own merits (like the Uly).... |

With that big glorious engine out in the open making that basso profundo cacaphony, I do believe all tubers will become more desirable and valuable... the earlier, even more so. Everyone that bought a tuber and had faith in the Company deserves it, too. |

I've had my RS on my local craigslist for sale or trade, and have had ZERO interest. Just one bozo that emailed me about 'how many miles on the bike?' (posted clearly on the ad) to waste my time. Maybe the 1125 will generate enough interest Buells, and thereby in 'older' Buells, to make the resale values for them go up a bit. I'm not gonna hold my breath on that one, though! AL |

I think you guys are missing the point here... Tubers will always be tubers, The new bike will be considered the beginning of the future, but the air cooled XB's will be the bike that is not oldschool but not the cool new design either. Poor guys... I think the Tubers will always be cool and unique. I look forward to riding mine many more years and attracting tons of attention doing it! |

There will always be latest and greatest so if that is what you want be prepared to be obsolete every couple of years. Great design is more or less timeless. I like the looks of my M2 Cyclone and it is still a thrill, always a fun ride. If you don't ride it back to back with an XB the handling is great. I have mine set up like a sport tourer with soft bags and a Givi fairing and it is always great fun on the road. But it is nice to see Buell move into the modern era witht the 1125. |
