Fellas ya gotta help me. What I want to do is figure out a way to put XB wheels and brakes on my Cyclone but I have no idea if it will even work. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Is this going to be major surgery? Am I stupid? Anywho, I gotta at least try something. I LOVE those wheels and that huge disc. Thanks. | ||

Bolt on the front end, clamps, wheels and all, the rear wheels need some sort of spacer to make them fit right. There have been a lot of us who thought about it and a few who did it. Wish I could remember who all did it, check the archives. Sanchez has/had a nice conversion bike going on last year, his work was not as extensive as Joesbuell's; was clean and fairly simple though... -Mike | ||

Wow, Joe you are a very talented fabricator! I wish I had 1/10th of your talent/skill. It is very obvious to me that I won't be able to do the swingarm/shock conversion, but I think that I can do the front end and the wheels/brakes. So I'll need an aftermarket spacer of some kind to make the rear wheel work? Anyone know where I can get one? If not, what kind of numbers am I looking at so that I can maybe find someone to fabricate one for me? Thanks guys. | ||

I doubt anyone makes the part as a regular sales item. Search the archives for the info on his project. Jodie didn't need the spacer for the wheel as he used a XB swing arm too (he made some slick spacers to mount that up though) *Edit* Just read Jodie's post and he's right, that was sjh (Seth) who did that last year, I think Sanchez bought his bike with the mods done already? -Mike (Message edited by littlebuggles on June 17, 2007) | ||

Unfortunately the previous owner of my M2 (may it rest in peace) did all the fabrication. I do have a few facts, though. You will need: 1) XB triple tree, forks, wheel (duh), and brake caliper. I believe you use the M2 steering head bearings. Your dash will bolt up to a Lightning tree. My PO fabbed headlight mounts and left the rest of the front naked, so I'm not sure how (or if) you might attach a flyscreen and other related hardware around the dash. 2) A pair of custom spacers for the rear wheel. Drop sjh a PM for the measurements. Lacking any precision measuring tools of my own, I mailed my spacers to him so he could make his own set. You'll have to use an XB sprocket for the XB rear wheel. IIRC, the XB sprocket is 65 teeth vs. the M2's 61, which means you get more torque, and your speedo reads faster than you're actually going. Be sure to get an XB12 rear sprocket, as the XB9s are even bigger. AFAIK, the XB rear brakes are identical to the tuber's. | ||
