I've also wondered this. I love my D&D, but for some reason I don't think my neiborhood appriciates it. I was thinking something like this little baffle in this picture next to the joke of a muffler. Modify it to fit in the hole, and make it quick release. Easily pull it out for whenever you want max. performance, or put it in for long rides or early rides. |

There are "universal" baffles available thru Drag Specialties. They're based on pipe ID. We sell the hell outta them for bikes that need state inspections |

Check out how this Japanese guy made his own baffle to get past the strict noise regs in Japan. http://www.jttk.zaq.ne.jp/afk/bb/engn_e.html That guy really loves his Buell... and Led Zepplin (thanks for the link Jayvee). |

Chris, I'm right now using a Carchemistry insert "www.carchemistry.com" in my straight thru 2 1/2 inch muffler. If you read their info on their website you might be interested also. For me it really brought my slightly modified M2 alive with correct jetting of course. Not a hesitation anywhere in the rev. range and I believe it increased my torque quite a bit. Just feels better everywhere right to 6800 rpm where it hits the limiter. See what you think. Bought it at either Jegs or Summit racing, I forget.
