I've searched Badweb and learned that the paint and paint codes of the early S2's have become obsolete and unattainable. My question: Has anyone been able to mimic Parkway Blue? I'm sure a skilled and experienced painter could get real close if he tried. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/3842/281377.html?1180452100 (Message edited by not_purple_s2 on May 29, 2007) |

I had a huge scratch on my tank cover and the local Ford dealer matched it perfectly. |

There aren't two different Parkway Blues are there? Yours looks a lot more purple than mine. I know that changes with the light but take a look at mine on my profile. |

The real Parkway Blue was very close to (if not the exact same color as) the purple used on a few Ford products of the time. I remember seeing Mustangs and trucks painted the familiar 'Barney Purple'. Not_purple - there is only one Parkway Blue. The tank/tail/fairing on the bike in your profile appears to be Black Sapphire. 1313 |

The bike in the photo is Black Sapphire. I have an RFI into the Guru of all Things Related to Buell Colors.

Not to hijack here - but I called my local dealer and asked for a bottle of touch-up-paint for my `01 s3t. The parts guy said he wasn't sure if he could get it, but he'd look into it and call me back. He didn't call me back yesterday... Is touch-up paint available? EDIT - Whoops, I just saw Brad's post on the other thread... Parallel threads always confuse me... EDIT-2 - Dealer called back, He found a part number for the touch-up paint. $12.00, and he ordered it - but he made me give him my credit card number over the phone. Even though I have $6.00 sitting on store credit from when they sold me the wrong oil filter and I had to return it. You'd think they could take a 6.00 risk on me rather than make me read my credit card number to them over the phone. (Message edited by naustin on May 30, 2007) |
