I went to ride the X1 today and no brake lights from front or back, bulb is good and no blown fuses. Where else should I look, Thanks |

There are connectors under the seat tucked in the sides of the tailpiece. Maybe one of them pulled loose? |

Cbr: 3 wires involved O/W orange with a white stripe + 12v from accessory fuse on with switch it feeds both brake switches, R/Y Red / Yellow stripe one from front switch to rear switch connection at "switched side" ie where the front and rear lines join here. The wiring then goes to tail as Robr indicates via some "bulit" connectors O / W is the run light too, Bk is ground. R / Y is the brake light, IIrc its on the left as seen from behind and above. If you have a run light but no brake check the connector in the tail, If you have neither check the ground connection then go back through / tail section to brake light switch, follow the hard line from the mc the switch is just in the frame above the rear iso |

Can I ask the obvious...did you check the bulb closely? You can lose brake but still have run (and vice versa) if it is a bad bulb. If you have a continuity tester, put the ground side against the metal base of the bulb, then put the hot probe on one of the base pins, then the other. The base is ground, the pins are the terminals for the 2 bulb functions. You should get a beep for each of the pins if the filament is good. I've had bulbs blow that *look* fine but have enough of a break in 'em they don't work. |
