Mike, If you haven't already buttoned everything back up yet, look at the little plate that holds down the primary wires, some people have found it prudent to deburr or smooth the edge of it and even bend it up a little to help avoid the wire insulation getting rubbed raw leading to shorts and other nasty stuff. If you have already buttoned everything all back together then just ignore what I just posted. Hope this helps, and if too late hope it doesn't haunt you. Don't know if anyone already mentioned this someplace further up along this thread. |

All back together now. After finding a few spare parts and having to back-track! Good new is, the crank seal that I pulled out was deffinately completely done. I'll try to get out for a decent ride today and see if it still pukes. It's awesome how simple these things are. It shifts MUCH smoother now. Not because I really replaced or adjusted anything. Just because the primary is no longer full of engine oil! |

I topped off the oil and went on a short ride followed by a little bit of red-line action going from 10-110mph. All was smooth, and everything appears to still be dry (that's supposed to be dry). The fluid that came out of the primary deffinately looks more like oil than tranny fluid. Good thing was it looked very clean. |

That pic of Bomber eating okra is now in my personal archives. I also showed it to everyone in my office, the guys in the shop, the FedEx and UPS man, and the janitors. I printed it on my color printer, and now I'm going to the Cannon Brew Pub to show it to the barstool prophets and local okra plantation owners... |

sigh -- of all the things I've managed NOT to FUBAR in my life, my unalloyed enthusiasm for Okra will be my legacy . . . Thang -- please leave it lo-res -- I look less beat up that way (sez the man that keep replacing his wife's glasses with perscriptions 10 years outa date) |
