I got a phone call from my old buddy Shawn today. He is an experienced rider with a 600F4i. He has an older BMW car with high miles had listed for sale in an auto locator for about 2,400. A fella calls him up and offered to trade him straight up for a 1995 Buell S2T. He is going to talk to the guy later tommorrow, and was wondering what kind of things he was looking for on the bike. So my question is, what kinds of things should I tell him to lookout for? I ride a 2001 M-2, but remember when guys were talking about recalls for shocks on the Pre-99 bikes, and a few other things. Any advice for what he should ask the owner would be greatly appreciated. I will pass the information onto him tommorrow. Thanks in advance, Brian Cessna |

First off there was no 1995 S-2T,1996 model year only. But a 1995 could be had with all the "T" options. A real T would have charcoal frame and sideplates. The more of the stock stuff is on it the better--carbon fiber air cleaner, rear fender. Engine work always nice, but low miles is better. Not alot went bad, some bodywork developed stress cracks, first gen front rotors got sloppy.Alum oil tank had threads stripped by enthusiatic HD techs. If he is original owner get the signature stuff. |
