I just noticed tonight that my M2 has no license plate light. It has one of those LED integrated turn signal/taillight thingies that the DPO put on. I ordered turn signals from the dealer but I wasn't planning to replace the whole light. Anybody know about these things? Do I need to get an entire stock light assembly? I personally don't care if my tag is illuminated but the local cops do. Not good. |

maybe if you notch the bottom of the lens the light will get to the plate, maybe not i'm not sure of the set-up you have there. |

Aside from drilling through the board and adding a white LED/small bulb aimed to the bottom, there isn't anything you can do (I just installed one of these on the S1 .. didn't want stalk turn signals and the PO had chopper style turns on it that had to go ... my S1 is a stripped down version...) If you can use the lens off yours, I can send you my spare housing minus the lens for the cost of boxing it up and shipping it if I still have it.. dunno if it will work for you since the integrated light has a clear lens I think, you'd need red .. (mine broke or I'd give it to you) - might just be easier to buy a whole assembly but I don't think my earlier suggestion would be too hard, add an LED or bulb ... I may do the same, but you can see it enough ... and with headlights shining on it, I am not too worried. |

X1's had a separate "white" light they used to illuminate their plates. You could mount one of these up, they are apox. 1/2"x1" and are held on by two screws. I am sure a X1 owner that chopped their tail would be glad to sell/give you... |

Try checking out the tail light lens on a blast. It should be the same plus it is used as the plate light. |

Yes, the stock M2/P3 lens had a clear section on the bottom, I think his problem is that the LED light boards (not bulbs) don't have any down-firing lights. There are some higher-dollar ones that DO have white down-firing lights put in specifically for tag lighting, though. Another bike that had a seperate tag light was the S1 - the factory had them mounted on the rear fender, bouncing up and down with the tire, and there was a light back there. Most folks ditched that setup right off the bat though, so nobody really remembers them |

I have one of the chrome plastic tail light housing off my M2. If your interested lemme know. I could bring it to Badness. It's the part that goes under the factory lens. If they installed the LED's correctly, they should just unplug from the factory wires and this should just screw right in and plug right in.
