All -- I've read the cam R&R section of the Service manual, and am left scratchin my head -- there seems to be no data on what position the crankshaft must be in to properly align the cams upon installation . . . . so, of course, I turn to the throbbing mind of the collective thanks a million |

There's a line on the pinion shaft gear that will need to be turned to line up with one of the lines on cam #2. AL |

Al perhaps (almost certainly) I'm being thick this AM -- if all the cams have been removed, and the crank rotated, and the pinion gear removed (I'm also replacing the oil drive gear with the new bronze number) . . . . . will aligning the line with Cam 2 do the trick? thanks for your help |

Pinion gear only goes on one way----go from there. |
