Ebutch - I thought that was snake oil! Does it REALLY make that big of change? I've been seeing the ads at oil change stores, etc. and thought it was likely another highly scientific method of separating legal tender from various containment devices. You're the first Ive encountered that has any working knowledge of the nitrogen-in-the-tires school of thought. AL |

All race cars use it I tried it and it,s like putting a lot of money in suspension parts, car, truck, bike.Air is 79% nit.20% ox.Nit. is not sensitive to heat or cold, aways same pressure, stable. Nit larger molecules doesn,t leak from tires as fast as ox. Better tire shops have it and they will even fill portable tanks for a few $,drain your tires + fill.I found out from Americas Car Show,Tom torbeairsen 5 years ago my self. Butch |

You will also get 500 or more miles a tire+more gas mileage about(.04%),ben there done that.Cooler running tires at any speed, hot or cold. Some Snake Oil!About the cheapest, greatist handling improvement in any mot. veh.!As I see it. (Message edited by ebutch on March 16, 2007) |

Ebutch - yeah that's a cut-up stock XL piece. I got one that was broken from a friend that has a bike shop. Apparently they commonly break around the footpeg boss in the event of a right-side 'tip over'. I cut the footpeg boss off and also cut it at the angle of the swingarm support. Short work with a bandsaw and disc sander. It's not perfect as it has that gaping hole where the boss was, but it's much more asthetic than the rusty chain-drive sprocket and chain mung accumulation that's looking back at you without the cover! I wonder about the kickstand thing, too. sometimes I had to lift my wife's S2T off the stand for her as it was leaning so far she couldn't get the leverage to stand the bike up. I used to park it with a 4X4 under the stand in the garage so it wouldn't take the space of 2 bikes - ya might as will lay it on it's side and save the weight of the sidestand! There's miles of threads dealing with this on the badweb. As far as the tire/nitrogen thing - after reading a bit of the links above, I take the "snake oil" statement back. I can see that there may be some advantage in certain instances. More like "snake topical ointment" I guess! I'm gonna try it myself in one of the bikes' tires and see what all the commotion is about. AL |

With air your tire is always changing press. as it heats up and cools. You will notice the diff! With supper-charger pulling Gs what would you say miles per gal + beefed eng. interals? But normal riding must be fair. They should make the engineers use that S2 kick- stand for Life!!!! Butch |
