Hello all! My scooter is sick! For the first time!! It's a 2000 X-1 Lightning with the air box modification (and K&N), the race ECM along with a Supertrapp exhaust. In the past month, the mileage has dropped to the low 40's and the bike has a bad hesistation when rolling on the throttle at around 3500RPM; it feels like the fuel filter is plugged--the bike has 9700 miles. Original fuel filter--could this be the problem?? Any input will be appreciated... Bruce Leander (Austin), TX}} |

BTW, I've ordered the filter (I work in parts at Central Texas Harley in Austin) and will install it ASAP.}} |

Check for lean condition due to intake leaks. I had a similar problem, read my profile to see if it sounds similar to you... |

You work at a dealership? Ask a mechanic! BUT if they are anything like the ones I've used locally you will probably get better information here |

Low 40s huh? Not too bad...hahaha.. must not ride like me.. Anyway... Do the sensor checks, on O2 and head temp... IF they check out, check your intake seals, they are probably dry rotted...BUT... check them anyway... Next, check your fuel pressure, and listen to the pump when you first get ready to start it... The was what mine did right before it went all to hell... Acceleration....nah, wasnt happening.. But, could also be bad gas... And, Corpus down here.... Chase |

Mine did the same stuff when the Engine Temp sensor went bad, wait long enough and it will start fouling plugs like a two stroke |
