My S1W has had the shock recall performed but I'm looking at getting a Penske off our race team (since the replacement shock is now leaking). Do I need to change mounts? How does one measure the mounts for the shocks to make sure you have the right setup? Or is it just "bolt it on, and it's either right, lowrider, or lift kit"? |

measure the old shock, it should either be the 14.5 or 16.5 inch eye to eye, if the penske isn't close to your current shock in length, you will likely have to change the mount, there are two types i believe, one kinda straight, one kinda boomerang shaped....i know, not very technical, but best i can come up with from here. perhaps someone else has actual p/ns?? |

"Measure the shock eye to eye". I can do that...but since its a shock, it changes length by nature, right? Measure it while sitting on the ground or axle stands? Or take it off and measure it once it settles into whatever length it likes to rest at? I'll measure on the ground, and ask Brian since he's the one who used to drive 'em. I'm sure he'll have an idea...or at least something that sounds convincing, LOL. |
