Oldog, no heat issues, the wiring on this bike is very minimal. Ya, these are aluminum, should be able to save a bunch of weight with the carbon. |

my eye keeps being drawn to the area below the oil tank, looks like it could use a chin spoiler, perhaps morph the bottom of the oil tank into the spoiler straddling the lower frame tubes, and lower the top of the existing tank to lower the CG a bit more?? |

The cool thing about the Twin Cam is that the oil is carried under the tranny, problem solved. I'm building one with that set up right now and it looks to be really sano. This bike will have the carbon wheels as well, should be cool. I'll get some photos to you guys as soon as it's complete. |

Is the TC engine much heavier than the EVO's? |

Only by a few pounds. Not enough to make a difference, not having the external oil system makes it worth it. |

Usually when I hear "roller" that means no engine, but we already said $5,300 for just the frame kit. When we say "16,750.00 for a roller" would it still need the engine? What else would be needed to complete it? Paint, tires, fluids, chain? Exhaust? I'm just guessing here...is it on the web-site anywhere? I can't find it. These guys make custom Ti exhausts by the way: http://arcfabrication.com/ (Message edited by jayvee on February 23, 2007) |

Well, looking into "chopper kits" which seem to be the only kits out there, the "complete kits" seem to run from $13 to $20K. I'm still not convinced about the Twin Cam engine (vs. Evo) but here's another idea: X-Wedge from S&S. Here's one built out by Tim Edmondson:

That's gotta be 435lbs dry. I've seen the ads in various publications for some time now. It's pretty easy to get around 95hp out of an 80" Evo. Twin Cams cost a lot more $$ to make equivalent power but the bottom ends are really stout. I like the idea of having an Evo-powered sport-tourer. Another company built a trellis framed Twin Cam years back. It's no longer on their website so it mustn't have sold well. I'd rather just buy an FXR, FXD, or FLT, strip it dead bare and modify the crap out of it. |

jayvee, from when curt and i spoke, the roller would include everything but the engine, and possibly paint/details, but would include wheels/suspension etc. |

Cosman built one with an FXR set up and I think he was planning to offer that frame as a kit but I heard it was ripped off and interest in the project was dropped. Really cool looking bike though. |

Yes, it was Kosman. Technically it was actually based on a FLT trans/engine. There's never been a Twin Cam FXR (by Harley, anyway). |

If none of you remember... We had this whole bike kit at Custom Chrome that was the FLT Twin Cam package. It was done for you.. No one wanted it. I think we sold 5 kits total. |

It's hard to justify $14k for a pile of parts! |

The Custom Chrome kit had an engine, at least, right? There was a write-up in a recent Cycle World about a kit bike they built up, looked pretty much similar to this war horse one. They wrote the kit was discontinued though. But I still see the chopper-esqe ones for sale in other places. For $14K, it has to be the "right" parts... (Message edited by jayvee on March 02, 2007) |

If I understand it right, I heard that Custom Chrome stopped selling all kit bikes due to a change in ownership. I don't think they just dropped the V-Bike kit. The V-Bike kit is nothing like the War Horse, that thing looked like a modified FXR and nothing more. |

The latest article also mentioned something about being legally liable for a product who's final assembly is completely beyond their control. |
