Yeah, I try to keep a spare set of spark plugs, insurance, and registration, all in a plastic zip-lock bag back by the tail light under the seat. |

The officer tends to get impatient while I unhook the tail bag, undo the straps, and unscrew/remove the seat. So, I got a behind-the-license-plate box for the paperwork. Various sources sell the "Grifter" for $20. |

I keep a laminated set in my leathers. In the back protector pocket with the armor. |

Police impatience worked in my favor a few times in the past. I keep my stuff in my wallet. Wallet is usually under the suit. I never move quickly when dealing with the police. I don't want them to get all "shooty" on me. Keep them talking while you take off your gear piece by piece and odds are by the time you finally get your documentation out, they will lose interest. |

Keep them talking while you take off your gear piece by piece and odds are by the time you finally get your documentation out, they will lose interest. Reminds me of the day we took that ride on the Mohawk Trail, when on the way to meet everyone, I got busted going up...Rte ( I think(right by the Qaubbin), and the cop sat there, and shot the breeze with me, asking this and that...saw my ID and leave papers, said he was a former Marine, and thought I was screwed... Let me go with a verbal warning... BTW, for the record, he was a Mass state cop, and busted me going through an uphill sweeper, at "90+" Anyway, now that I have a fully welded undertail, I keep my papers in a zip lock under the seat. I also keep a set in my wallet( TX issues a copy of your reg with your original). Chase} |
