This is a spare cover so it is off of the bike and I have time to do it correctly. I used Hardman brand A-85 bubblepack. There was more than enough adhesive for the tab repair and it appears to be attached more firmly than the original hot weld. I will report if I have any problems. PS - Our chemical engineer noted that this adhesive would be much better suited than Gorilla Glue or any other one-part adhesive.
