I have a trans fluid leak on my '02 X1W. Looks to be at the primary gasket seal (1/12" of the paper gasket shows) or maybe the drain plug. When I ride it is enough to drop a few ounces (3-4) out once stopped. How difficult is it to change that gasket? I know metal gaskets are available for the top end is there a reccommended gasket for here? Should I replace the primary shoe while in there?
Thanks in advance for your help.

The gasket is very easy to change, you do not even need to remove the muffler. You will need a new primary gasket and a new shifter seal.

Do you have a torque wrench and a service manual for the exact procedure?

The 02's had the updated primary shoe so you should be in good shape.
