i know they are shorter than S3T bars, but how much shorter are they? It seems like I would be more comfortable if my bars (now the S3T) were about 1 - 2 inches shorter (what I think the S3 bars would be), pulling me forward just a little bit...Any input?? | ||

I have the S3 bars- take a look at my photos in the S3 photo thread. My guess is that they are at least 2" shorter. | ||

I never knew the bars were different on the S3. The stock bars for an M2 are about 2" shorter than an S3T. | ||

I switched from the S3 to the S3T bars. The S3 bars were too low and caused lower back pain on long rides. I mounted the S3T bars and have them rotated as low down as possible without hitting the tank. I'm very happy with the S3T's this way -- though next time I'll get an aluminum bar to save weight. | ||

Sorry, the S3 bars are not with me. You can look in Dennis Kirk's Catalogs (Road and Dirt versions) and find an aluminum bar that meets your rise, reach and pull back dimensions that you want. | ||

I'd be careful ordering lower bars unless you knew exactly the bend you needed. The stock bars on my M2 just barely clear the tank, but if you rotate them forward, the bend becomes awkward. I never could find tubular bars that fit as well as the stock M2 handlebars. | ||

I've ridden both and prefer the S3 bar. I don't like sitting upright when I'm in the wind. As for distance I rode 1,100mi in one day. The problem I have with the shorter bar is I usually end up honking the horn when I turn to full left lock. | ||

OK...so what are the dimensions of the S3 bars. The ones I have (I believe are the S3T) are 8" across center and the rise is 5-6". Can someone measure their S3 bars and tell me???? | ||

Mine only have a 3" rise so you must have the S3T bar. I've been tempted to grind off some of the horn button to keep it from honking but just today when I pulled into a gas station some bimbo was backing up and almost ran me over even while I was laying on that super loud horn we have. I moved back to give her room and she just kept coming until her open window came even with my front tire, then she noticed me. | ||
