I was slower than everything in line- but I got better each race. Got down to 12.9 @ 104 in the last run with a 0.03 second reaction time. I have a few mods- race ignition, forcewinder, and Buell Race exhaust. I wonder what is the BEST I could expect? I googled 1/4 mile Buell times but most had extreme modifications like drag bars. It was fun if anyone wants to ride over there some night and race with me that would be fun. I raced a Huyabusa the last run which made me look REALLY slow (I think he did like 9 seconds @ 160 MPH).. Oh yeah I forgot- I kept hitting the rev limiter and lost speed.. I need to keep a closer eye on the tach- I know I could loose at least 1/2 second there... |

Thanks- sounds like if I work at it I may be able to break into the 11's! |

possibly, i still needed to play with my suspension settings, its normally stiff, if i woudl have taken some preload out of the spring the front end would have had better 60's |

I noticed a lot of guys lowered the front ends- some extremely.. One guy had a $20 strap that attached to each caliper, and around the top of the triple tree. It looked very dangerous- if the wheel was turned, it would compress the forks even more making steering difficult.. |

The strapped front end is the way to go. You leave in a little travel and so long as you remember to release before heading out on the street, it isn't dangerous. It lets you be more aggressive with the launch by helping to keep wheelies down. I ran a 12.01 @111 mph with a 1.86 60' without a strap. I think a strap will get me in the 11's Don't worry about being slowest in line, if you go often enough some guys who can't ride and/or some Harleys or other slower bikes that you can beat will show up |
