Re: Bike stuff "I'm looking to replace the stock brake lever on my '99 M2 with an adjustable one. Anyone have any experience with the lever offered by Dennis Kirk. I know older Kawasaki levers fit this year Cyclone but all the ones I can find are silver and I want to keep the dark anodized thing going." help a brother out... |

Found a replacement today by accident. I stopped in a local independent bike shop and there on the shelf was a Lockhart-Phillips replacement lever for Kawasaki ZX-whatevers. $15.95 and it was mine. Installed it this afternoon and what an improvement. The dark anodizing even matches the stock Buell piece. Couldn't ride today because it was cold and rainy but tomorrow it's supposed to be sunny and 65 here in MA. No more sore fingers! |

Rob, Did that have a part # on the package? Can you dig that up? I was trying to identify it on the L-P web page but it was making me crazy. There are about 10 different L-P part numbers for the ZX-whatevers. There should be a 7 digit part number, like 24..... on the package. Jack |

Jack, the part number is 2401215 and it fits 91-03 ZX7R, ZX10, ZX6 etc. Hope this helps. I rode today and the new lever is a big improvement over the factory piece. |

I ride, especially in traffic, with one or two fingers on the brake lever. With the old stock piece my index finger would go numb. The new lever lets my fingers stay in the natural bend of my hand when resting on the lever. I rode for an hour today with no numbness. |

Thanks Rob, I like the two fingers resting on/hanging over the brake too. With winter gloves I have to work at it too hard. I have never used anything anywhere near half of the brake lever travel so I can give up a little. Jack |
