I got some Flanders flat track bars without considering that I'll need to modify my wires and cables. How the heck do I do this? Splice the wires and build my own brake and clutch lines? Thanks, Chad.

The bars are 4 inches longer, .5 inch taller and have 4.5 inches more pullback. Sorry I forgot to add that earlier.

Have you removed the tank, cut the wire ties and rerouted the wires & cables?

How much room will this give me? I need at least 6 inches to put the lines, cables and wires back on to allow for turning.

You never know how much cable legenth you'll be able to pick up by re-routing the lines until you try.. I agree with Outrider, remove the body work and find the shortest path to the controls.

6" is a lot of space to cover though. My guess would be that you will at least need a need clutch cable.

Once everything is installed, turn the bars from lock to lock with the motor running. If your idle speed changes then the throttle cable needs to be longer or it needs to be re-routed.

I would never start "cutting and splicing" control cables. 1st you would create a weak spot on the line, 2nd you would have a section of unjacketed steel cable exposed to the elements. You can buy longer control cables.

Elmono, you can easily extend your wires if you know how to solder. If you decide to cut the wires to extend them make sure you do not cut the wires all in the same place. If you do,when you solder them together and put heat shrink on them you will have a very bulky place in your wiring harness.(do not extend with crimp on connectors, this will give you wiring headaches in the long run)As far as your cable problem goes,go to your local bike shop(any bike shop that has an account with Barrnett)and tell them how much longer you need them.Barnett will make cables ANY length you want them to.They will also make your brake line as well.If you have a problem with your local shop ordering this for you send me an email and I will help you out.

I'm running the X-roads bars on my M2 and the clutch cable is bent at a severe angle. I've just out up with it for years, but now americansportbike and Col Time on Ebay are both offering hydraulic clutch assemblies. I'm going to out one on...

I went with Barnett. It's a pain since Barnett won't deal with the public directly, so I had to go to a local shop to order the cables. Thanks for the help, Chad.
