Is it possible to open up the speedo to change the bulb in there? I haven't even taken a look at it yet. I am sure somebody will tell me how simple it is (which would be good) and then I will look stupid for asking. Either way, it is burned out, and I can't tell how fast I am going after dark. Do you think this would fly with the law? Officer: Do you know how fast you were going? Me: Sorry, I really don't. It's not my fault, my speedo doesn't work. Officer: Ok then, well have a good day. |

I too have the same problem. In the past I did have the back of the speedo off to swap dashboards and to my recollection just pull out the back. However they are very small and may be hard to find. |

If I am remembering correctly you can get the bulbs at an auto parts store. They do pull out of the back by the way. |

Yeah an easy job. Take off the flyscreen (4 screws) remove rear housing of the speedo. (2 screws) I think at that point, it's obvious. I have the owners manual here..... Speedo: 1.7watts, pn:67421-99Y Tach: 1.7watts, pn:68073-99Y I suggest getting a "real" one from the factory. I got an autozone bulb and it fir but it was just a little more bright than normal. It gradually drove me nuts having one more bright than the other! I ended up buying the "real" one. Oh and one more thing, The little row of indicator lights are REALLY hard to remove from the housing without breaking it. I found that they sell the whole housing with fresh bulbs for $65. |
